Cosmic Echoes On Still Water

Here is a story of magic and the miracles of life.
I knew it would be about 30 degrees at the Lake. I put on two pairs of pants, heavy wool socks, winter boots, two shirts, including the flannel shirt I stole from my Dad's closet before he died, two coats, a wool hat, and fingerless wool mittens a friend knit for me. I was grateful I did. I picked up my friend Bobby at 6:30 pm. We drove about an hour up to the Lake, got out to scope things out, and within several minutes, we saw the Comet fly through the sky. We saw the whole comet, including the tail, and it was there and gone within less than a minute. The sky was getting brighter and brighter with millions of stars, and then I saw my favorite lover: The Magical Milky Way in all her glory. She kept getting brighter and brighter and spreading her beauty throughout the sky from one side of the lake to the other.
I've known Bobby since he was born... and he and I love going out to make photos together. We watched the night sky getting brighter and brighter, got out our tripods and cameras, and walked to the side of the lake we have gone to many times to photograph the Milky Way and hopefully the meteor shower. After about 2 hours, a truck came up the winding road and parked quite close to us as we were making photos of the Milky Way and the Lake. Miraculously, the headlights of the truck lit up the foreground as well as the trees across the lake in front of the mountain range!!! What a fortuitous gift!!! I thanked the driver, who happens to be a photographer, and asked if he'd drive up one more time so Bobby and I could get a couple more photos. After all was said and done, we met Travis and his friend Petra and thanked them for their gift and their kindness.
Simple acts of kindness make a HUGE difference. Thank you Travis and Petra for making our night even more magical than it already was!!!
Love and blessings.
